2D Localization of classical waves – a numerical study with COMSOL
Opening for a post-doc position (1 year with a possible extension) : 2D Localization of classical waves – a numerical study with COMSOL
Reference: "2D Localization of classical waves".
We plan on using the FEM toolbox of COMSOL-multiphysics numerical platform to simulate the time-dependent excitation and propagation of THz electromagnetic fields in a 2D random medium. The goal of the project is to describe Anderson Localization of THz-light in a 2D random waveguide. The present (numerical) project will be carried out in parallel with an experimental project at the University of Bern in the frame of the LiMAT collaboration [1]. The successful candidate should have an background of excellence in physics and numerical studies. Knowledge of a programming language is a requirement.
